This product is made from the oil of bitter almonds and does not contain the protein responsible for tree-nut allergies. Cook's Pure Almond Extract is an allergen-free product.

Recommended Usage

For home cooking and baking, use 1-2 teaspoons.

For industrial applications, use 2 to 4 ounces per 5 gallons (40 pounds) of mix.

Store in a cool, dry, dark container away from sunlight.

This product is extremely shelf-stable and lasts for years. For FDA and trace-ability purposes, however, shelf life is stated as 1095 days from manufacture date. Manufacture date is listed as UDC.

Cookies make the world go around!

I make a cream cheese and almond cookie with your Almond Extract. EVERYBODY loves these cookies. They wouldn't be as good with the flavorings you can buy at the store. I've tried. I share that advice with everyone I share my recipe with. I've been using your Almond Extract for probably 30 years. Thank you for your contribution to my holiday cookie making!

Outrageously superb!

This is the best Almond Extract I have ever tasted! I’m 71 and I’ve been baking since I was 8! I worked at a local bakery in Keyport, NJ.
I believe I know extracts and this Almond Extract is great!

In addition to use in my baked goods, I enjoy a bit of the Almond Extract in my milk with maple syrup to sweeten the mix! Great night cap!

Not what it used to be!

I am very sorry to find, and say, that Cook's Almond Extract is no longer nearly of the quality and strength that it used to be. Having used this product for many years, I recently (March 2022) purchased a new bottle, and used it in a recipe that I have made many times, only to find that the results were NOT as I was expecting --- the almond flavor in the final product was almost non-existent. So I looked at the ingredients, and the formerly first ingredient, "Oil of Bitter Almonds", was now THIRD, and last, with more water and alcohol. And it shows!

It galls and outrages me when companies make these kind of insulting and dishonest actions, cheaping and diluting their products and assuming that the customers will not notice or care. Well, they are WRONG, because I DO notice the change and I DO care! I will never purchase another bottle of this product, nor of anything made by Cook's Flavoring, as they clearly cannot be counted on or trusted.

Thank you for your message regarding our Pure Almond Extract. I assure you there was NO change made to the formula for the Pure Almond Extract, or any of our fine extracts. NO ONE cares more about our product than I do and our small staff at Cook Flavoring Company. I also assure you quality is our number one concern as it has been for 103 years under our family ownership. Each batch of product we make is closely analyzed before bottling for purity and strength. The order of ingredients was changed on the label to conform to new FDA labeling laws for flavors. Previously, the flavoring ingredient was listed first. New labeling requires ingredients are listed in order of dominance. Almond Oil is extremely potent, the alcohol and water are carriers for the fine flavor.
